Online Pharmacy - Three Signs It’s Not a Legitimate Canadian Pharmacy
When you are shopping online, you always take the time to ensure that you are working with reputable companies. Some websites are inherently known to be trustworthy because they are household names. For example, shopping at Amazon.com or Target.com is not questioned because these are big-name companies that people know and trust. However, shopping for more obscure services or with a different type of business that might not be as popular can sometimes be scary. You need to take the time to figure out what resources are available and how to know whether you are choosing the best websites or not.
There are many indicators that you’re dealing with a less-than-professional online pharmacy, but here are three key indicators that you should look for:
- If an ‘online pharmacy’ claims to be legitimate and has to spend more time convincing you that they are authentic than offering you resources and prescription medications online, they’re probably not the real deal. Typically, you should find a professional site that focuses on offering you the medications that you need and shows off their licensed, reputable approach to doing business rather than trying to sell you on their legitimacy.
- If a pharmacy is lacking certification, you shouldn’t work with them. While having the CIPA seal is a good sign, you should also go to the CIPA website and verify that they are actually registered as a pharmacy that is licensed to do business online. The logo itself is easy to copy and paste onto a page without actually being certified to use it.
- Finally, if an online pharmacy tries to tell you that you don’t need a prescription for medications that are typically prescription-only drugs, you should walk away. Any licensed pharmacy will not sell you medications unless you bring a prescription with you because it is illegal to distribute prescription-level medications without a prescription.
These are three things to watch out for when you’re shopping with an online pharmacy. Typically, you won’t have to worry about a lot of these things as long as you find useful resources to begin with, but it never hurts to check and double check the companies that you are working with. After all, if it is a legitimate online pharmacy, they will invite you to verify their capabilities and offer you everything that you need to prove that they are a legitimate resource for your discount medication needs.
